Established in 1946
The Kirkland Lake District Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary partnership of local business professionals, who have a collective goal of building a healthy economy and improving the quality of life in Kirkland Lake and the surrounding areas.
The Kirkland Lake District Chamber of Commerce supports our local businesses by providing marketing and communication tools, and education for professional growth. Through their affiliation with the Ontario Chamber of Commerce and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, the Kirkland Lake District Chamber of Commerce advocates for and on behalf of small businesses. The Kirkland Chamber of Commerce promotes tourism and community involvement by the organization of many community events.
Mission
The Kirkland Lake District Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization made up of volunteers. The objectives of the Chamber of Commerce are to promote the civic, commercial, industrial and agricultural interests of this area and to preserve and further the operations of Canada’s private and competitive enterprise system based upon individual freedom of choice and personal initiative and responsibility.
History
The Kirkland Lake, Swastika Board of Trade was formed on March 1st, 1920, pursuant to the Board of Trade Act. In 1946, the name was changed to The Kirkland Lake District Chamber of Commerce.
